The commercial activity of the historic center of Betanzos has been affected by demographic decline and competition from large shopping centers. The opportunity derived from the rehabilitation of the Municipal Market involves rethinking the importance of historical processes and their fundamental role in the existence and survival of the city, as well as their intimate relationship with its geographical and cultural context. After various functional transformations and its progressive abandonment, there is an opportunity to return to the essence of the market, proposing an intervention that allows for the removal of improper additions, strengthening the relationship with the surrounding public space, recovering the original spatiality, and enhancing the connection with the exquisite local product of A Terra das Mariñas, creating traditional stalls that hybridize with others for product tasting /// A actividade comercial do casco histórico de Betanzos foi afectada polo declive demográfico e a competencia dos grandes centros. Tras diversas transformacións funcionais e o seu progresivo abandono, preséntase a oportunidade de voltar á esencia do mercado, propoñendo unha intervención que permita limpar engadidos impropios, fortalecer a relación co espazo público circundante, recuperar a espacialidade orixinal e potenciar a conexión co exquisito produto local de A Terra das Mariñas, xerando postos tradicionais que se hibriden con outros de degustación de produto.
